Anaka, a gorilla, is among Zoo Atlanta’s most fascinating creatures. She has lots of strength, tenderness, and intelligence, but none of these qualities distinguish her from other gorillas. According to Zoo Atlanta, “her distinctive pink pigmentation on her fingers makes her easy to identify from Taz’s family group.” Anaka also looks far more human than her peers because of the pink hue of her hands. The zoo claims that Anaka is the 22nd gorilla to be born in the Ford African Rain Forest and the grandchild of the renowned late Willie B.
